2017 Primetime Emmy Awards - Complete List of Nominees

The competition will be fierce at this year’s Emmy Awards. In fact, that competition will be led by a few new shows. HBO's Westworld and Big Little Lies are just some of the standouts from this year's nominations. 

HBO’s thriller series Westworld and NBC’s iconic program Saturday Night Live led the pack with 22 Emmy nominations each. Smash hit Stranger Things scored 18 nominations. The nominations were announced just moments ago in Los Angeles.

The competition for Best Drama Series will be tight this year with a ton of new shows appearing in the category.

  • HBO's Game of Thrones has been a mainstay in this category in recent years, but it was not eligible for nominations this year.  The seventh season premieres after the eligibility date passed (May 31). The show's sixth season was nominated for last year's Emmys.​

On the comedy side, several familiar shows were nominated. VEEP and Modern Family were once again nominated for this award.

The 69th Emmy Awards will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 17. Stephen Colbert will host the show, which will air live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.
