Houston honored, Kanye, Jay-Z win top award
The BET Awards were presented last night. All of the industry’s top stars were there, to perform, present or accept. The show was filled with foul language. The night also featured tributes to deceased greats, including Whitney Houston.

Cissy Houston refuses to sleep at hotel where daughter Whitney died
Cissy Houston switched hotels after she was booked at the Beverly Hilton. Her daughter Whitney died there in February. Cissy performed a tribute at last night’s BET Awards. She is a guest at the Regent Beverly Wilshire. She did visit the room Whitney died in.
Alec Baldwin marries yoga instructor in NYC
Alec Baldwin and his yoga instructor fiancé tied the knot Saturday in a New York City church. Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas married at St. Patrick's Cathedral. He is 54, she is 28. The reception was held at New York University's Kimmel Center.
Taylor Swift to Release Second Fragrance
Taylor Swift will release her second fragrance, "Wonderstruck Enchanted," this September. It’s described as oriental with a blend of creamy flowers and sensual woods. It comes in a crimson bottle that features gold charms. It’s expected to be followed by an album release.
Custody, images at stake in Cruise-Holmes divorce
Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise in New York Thursday. That gives her an advantage in getting custody of 6-year-old daughter Suri. Cruise turns 50 tomorrow, Katie is 33. They married in 2006. This will be his third divorce. His previous wives were also 33.
Church of Scientology says they’re not watching Katie
Katie Holmes believes the Church of Scientology might have people following her. Photographers who watch her say mysterious men & vehicles have been around her apartment. They are not security. The Church claims they are not involved.
DISH drops AMC
DISH Network dropped AMC from its service Sunday. An estimated 14 million households lost access to the channel. DISH also dropped IFC, Sundance and WE TV after failing to resolve a dispute with the network over cost and the value of programs offered.
Rihanna mourns beloved grandmother
Rihanna’s beloved grandmother passed away last week. Ciara "Dolly" Brathwaite passed away after a long battle with cancer. On Twitter, Rihanna told her to "Get your beauty rest until I see you." She also shared pics of her grandmother with her fans.
Usher stalker admitted for mental check
A woman police arrested for trespassing at Usher's Georgia home was admitted to a hospital for mental evaluation. 26-year-old Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw was released, and is due in court next month. She claims to be Usher’s wife. He is not married.
Chris Brown remix appears to be Drake diss
Chris Brown has released a remix of Chief Keef's track “I Don't Like.” It features some freestyle verse with words that take aim at Drake. The remix refers to the nightclub brawl, questioning courage, and makes fun of facial features, specifically eyebrows.
Rick Ross not the father of woman’s child
Rick Ross did not father a secret child in Florida three years ago. A woman filed a paternity lawsuit against Ross last year. She was looking for child support. Both underwent court-ordered DNA tests. Rick is NOT the father. She has dismissed her case.
Singer Adele expecting first child
Singer Adele announced on her blog that she is expecting her first child. Her boyfriend is 36-year-old Simon Konecki. He is CEO of a charity, and has a 5-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. She asks fans to respect their privacy.
