St. Paul singer gets golden ticket on "Idol"
"American Idol" aired its auditions in Minneapolis last night. The standouts were 17-year-old Shannon Berthiaume and 17-year-old Aaron Bissell. Both earned 3 yes votes and the golden ticket. Auditions continue tonight in New Orleans, home of judge Harry Connick Jr.
Will Ferrell shoots movie scene during NBA game halftime
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were in New Orleans last night attending an NBA game. At halftime, they filmed a scene for their movie "Daddy's Home." Will's character tries to make a half-court shot for prizes. He becomes belligerent, pelts a cheerleader & gets hauled off.
Meghan Trainor Ends Taylor Swift's Album Chart Run With Big First Week
Meghan Trainor's new album has rocketed to the top of the charts. "Title" knocks Taylor Swift's "1989" off the top after 8 weeks. The latest Kidz Bop compilation debuts at three. Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" is the top single, ahead of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud."
LL Cool J Set To Host The 2015 Grammys
LL Cool J will host the Grammys a fourth time. He has served as host since 2012. Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith and Beyoncé have six nods each. The list of performers is growing. The 57th Grammy Awards are Feb. 8 at Staples Center, and will be broadcast live on CBS.
Lindsay Lohan Released From Hospital After Contracting Rare Virus
Lindsay Lohan caught a mosquito-borne virus while on vacation in Bora Bora, an island in French Polynesia, last month. Earlier this week, she went to a hospital in London for high fever, joint pain and fatigue. She was released yesterday, but is on medications.
Israeli Man Arrested for Leaking 'Rebel Heart' Songs
The person behind the leak of Madonna's "Rebel Heart" music has been arrested. A 39-year-old Israeli man was arrested in Tel Aviv. Authorities believe he hacked into computers of several artists and stole unreleased music. Madonna called it "deeply devastating & hurtful."
Zooey Deschanel is pregnant and engaged
Zooey Deschanel and beau Jacob Pechenik are engaged. He popped the question Saturday, on her 35th birthday, on Catalina Island. They have been dating since mid-2014 and have a baby on the way. She divorced Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard in 2012. (3 years)
Flavor Flav pleads not guilty to charges in traffic stop
Flavor Flav pleaded not guilty to charges from a New York traffic stop last year. He was speeding to his mother's funeral. His license had been suspended 15 times. He's due back in court Feb. 3. He told reporters, "I don't like the circumstances, but I like the attention."
Adele returning for Bond theme?
Adele may be recording the next James Bond theme. She was flown to Los Angeles by MGM after coming up with a ''great'' idea for the song. Producers will decide if it fits the theme of "Spectre." She won an Oscar & Golden Globe for singing the last Bond theme, 'Skyfall.'
Tyga's 'Gold Album' Is Delayed Again
Tyga's "The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty" was to arrive January 27. He told fans on Twitter yesterday he and the label are trying to agree on a date. On January 28, he is joining Chris Brown and Trey Songz for their "Between the Sheets" tour in Hampton.

George Lucas' ideas for the new 'Star Wars' movie were ignored by Disney. He sold his production company, Lucasfilm, to Disney in 2012. Despite offering suggestions, all of his ideas were dismissed. His priority now is wife Mellody & 17-month-old daughter Everest.
Andrae Crouch remembered for dedication to gospel music
The funeral for gospel great Andrae Crouch was yesterday in Los Angeles. It was attended by many of the biggest stars in gospel and R&B music. The service went over 4 hours. Crouch died from a heart attack Jan. 8 at age 72. He was awarded 7 Grammys.
Eddie Murphy, serious about music, records reggae song
Eddie Murphy may be best known as an actor & comedian, but he spends most of his days working on music. He is releasing a reggae song called "Oh Jah Jah," available for digital download. He had a No. 2 hit in 1985 with the Rick James-produced "Party All the Time."
