Josh Kaufman wins The Voice

"The Voice" wrapped up season 6 last night. Josh Kaufman won a recording contract with Universal Music Group and $100,000 cash. It was Usher’s first win as a coach. Performers included OneRepublic, Ed Sheeran, Robin Thicke, Coldplay and Alabama.

Front-runner Meryl Davis wins DWTS

"DWTS" has crowned the winner of its 18th season. Meryl Davis was declared the winner after a performance of "Human" by Christina Perri. Candace and Mark finished third, while Amy and Derek were the runner-up.  Cody Simpson and Ariana Grande also performed.

Star-studded 2-hour finale tonight on American Idol

Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene sang 3 songs on American Idol last night. The winner will be announced tonight. Performers include Lady Antebellum, Aloe Blacc, KISS, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Nettles, Paramore, Phillip Phillips and Darius Rucker.

Samantha Harris Undergoes Double Mastectomy

Samantha Harris is recovering following a double mastectomy. The former host of "DWTS” underwent the surgery yesterday, a month after being diagnosed with breast cancer. In her Twitter post, she thanked her surgical team and posted a selfie in her hospital bed.

John Legend sings in U-Penn commencement speech

John Legend went home to his alma mater & delivered a musical commencement address at the University of Pennsylvania. His address focused on love as the key to his success and happiness.  He gave a shout-out to Kanye West, to wife Chrissy Teigan, & sang “All of Me.”

Pharrell Williams Plots Fall European Tour

Pharrell Williams' second studio album, "G I R L," is getting a proper solo tour -- in Europe. He has announced an overseas trek that kicks off Sept. 9 in Manchester, England. He also visits Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium, The Netherlands, and London.

Six Iranians Arrested For Making Video To Pharrell’s ‘Happy’

Six young Iranians have been arrested after uploading a video of themselves dancing to Pharrell’s “Happy.”  Authorities in Tehran are calling the video “vulgar.”  All six were forced to formally apologize on state television. Pharrell wrote “beyond sad” on his Facebook page.

 

 

Police: Actor told 911 he shot wife in Los Angeles

Actor Michael Jace, who played a police officer on "The Shield," called L-A 911 Monday night  & told an operator he shot his wife. April Jace was found dead in the hallway of their home. He was arrested.  Investigators are looking into their marital background.

Willow Smith's parents under investigation over snap with Moises Arias

Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are under investigation by child protection services. 13-year-old daughter Willow appeared in a photo on a bed with 20-year-old actor Moises Arias. Investigators are concerned about lack of adult supervision. The family is cooperating.

Arsenio Hall Launches Bid To Buy The Los Angeles Clippers

Arsenio Hall has launched a bid to take over the Los Angeles Clippers. He insists he is serious about purchasing the franchise. He has set up an Indiegogo.com campaign to raise money to buy the team. He wants to raise $1 billion by June 24.

Judge expresses ongoing concerns about Casey Kasem

A judge making decisions over Casey Kasem’s health & welfare is concerned over the lack of information & cooperation. A court appointed attorney and doctor have not been able to contact him or his wife Jean. Kasem’s daughter Kerri will hire a private investigator.

Taylor Swift sued by Lucky 13 clothing brand

Taylor Swift's favorite number may not be so lucky after all. Clothing company Lucky 13, which produces street wear, has sued her for trademark infringement. She uses the phrase "Lucky 13" on her merchandise. The suit wants the profits.

Lupe Fiasco Named Music Director For U.S. Men's Soccer Team

Rapper Lupe Fiasco has been named the music director for the U.S. Men's soccer team ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He will create playlists and handle in-game music programming during the exhibition games. The World Cup kicks off June 12 in Brazil.

Lana Del Rey to Earn Six-Figure Sum Performing at KimYe's Wedding

Lana Del Rey will perform at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding this weekend. She will be flown to Paris and paid 6 figures. Kim is a big fan of her music. She will perform her hit song “Young and Beautiful.”

R.E.M Releases Remastered Back Catalogue To Itunes

R.E.M. have released re-mastered versions of their entire music catalogue as part of a new iTunes package. They disbanded 3 years ago. The music dates back to 1988. The packages include R.E.M.'s Unplugged performances on MTv, featuring 11 songs that never aired.

Lionel Richie To Receive Lifetime Achievement Accolade At BET Awards

Singer Lionel Richie is set to receive the BET Lifetime Achievement Award next month. He’ll be honored at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles June 29. He’ll also perform. Chris Rock will host. Past recipients include Whitney Houston, James Brown, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross.

 

Cicely Tyson, 80, To Receive Honorary Doctorate From The American Film Institute

Actress Cicely Tyson is set to receive an honorary degree from The American Film Institute next month. She will be honored with a Doctorate of Fine Arts at the AFI Conservatory's commencement June 11. Today, she’ll be recognized by Columbia University in New York.

Ciara Names Baby Boy Future Zahir Wilburn

R&B star Ciara has named her newborn son after his rapper father Future. She gave birth Monday in Los Angeles. The first picture went onto Instagram yesterday. She wrote, "Future ZAHIR WILBURN 9lbs 10oz May 19 2014." Future has 3 children from previous relationships.

Marilyn Manson Mourning Mother's Death

Marilyn Manson is mourning following the death of his mother last week. Barbara J. Warner passed away in Canton, Ohio May 13 at age 68 after a long battle with dementia. Manson’s real name is Brian Warner. He wrote on Twitter she was his first and greatest believer.

Pat Sajak Calls Climate Change Activists 'Unpatriotic Racists' in a Tweet

Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak wrote on Twitter “global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists.” A climate scientist wrote back “this ain’t the 'Wheel of Fortune'. If we lose this game, all humanity pays the price." Sajak admitted he likes “poking the hornets' nest.”
