Los Angeles police say speed may be a factor in a deadly crash involving Salma Hayek's brother. 40-year-old Sami Hayek lost control on a curvy stretch of Sunset Boulevard Sunday afternoon. He hit a pickup truck. His ribs were broken, and his passenger was killed.

Alec Baldwin To Play Newspaper Columnist On 'Law & Order' After Blasting Media

Media-hater Alec Baldwin will be playing a newspaper columnist in an episode of 'Law & Order: SVU.' He accuses the police of improperly investigating a rape case which could be a hate crime. He interferes with the crime unit's investigation. The episode airs March 19th.

The numbers are in: Britney's Vegas show is a hit

'Britney: Piece of Me' has grossed $10.9 million in just 16 shows. All 16 performances through Feb. 22 were sold out (72,000 tickets total). She’s performing in Planet Hollywood's Axis theater. The venue seats 4,600. She has 98 shows scheduled over two years.

'SNL' lines up Lena Dunham, Jim Parsons

Saturday Night Live returns from a mini-hiatus on March 1 with host Jim Parsons. Musical guest for the night will be Beck. The following week, Girls star Lena Dunham will make her SNL hosting debut on March 8. The National will also make their debut as musical guest.

Fifth Instalment Of Shrek Franchise Planned

DreamWorks Animation is developing a fifth instalment of the Shrek franchise. Shrek, which stars Mike Myers, first hit theatres in 2001 and the last film was released in 2010. A Shrek theme park attraction will open in London in 2015.

"Symphonica," George Michael's first album in seven years, is to be released March 18. The recording was made during Michael's 2011-12 "Symphonica" concert tour of the United Kingdom and Europe. The first single will be the ballad "Let Her Down Easy."
