'Bad Grandpa' opens to strong box office with $32 million
"Bad Grandpa" opened to a strong $32 million to lead the box office, pushing "Gravity" to second place with $20 million. "Captain Phillips" was third with $11.8 million. "The Counselor" came in 4th at $8 million. "A Chance of Meatballs 2" was fifth with $6.1 million.
Chris Brown charged with assault in DC
Chris Brown was arrested early Sunday for allegedly punching a man in the face outside the W Hotel in Washington. His bodyguard was also arrested. Brown had been performing at a downtown club. He’s due in court this morning. He has a probation hearing Nov. 20.
Drake Cancels North Carolina Concert
Rapper Drake has cancelled an upcoming concert in North Carolina due to a “scheduling conflict.” He was due to hit the stage at the PNC Arena in Raleigh next Sunday. His performance in Charlotte Saturday is still expected to go ahead as planned.
Lou Reed, iconic punk poet, dead at 71
Singer Lou Reed died Sunday at age 71 from an ailment related to his recent liver transplant. He was the father of indie rock, and an ancestor of punk, New Wave and the alternative rock movements. His biggest hit, “Walk On the Wild Side," came out in 1972.

Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie has been diagnosed with liver cancer. The group is canceling the Australian and New Zealand leg of their tour. They just completed their European tour. John McVie is one of the co-founding & original members of Fleetwood Mac.

Actress Christina Ricci married longtime boyfriend, camera technician James Heerdegen, in a small ceremony in New York. The couple married Saturday in Manhattan. She wore a Givenchy wedding gown. They met on the set of now-canceled ABC series "Pan Am."

Marcia Wallace, Emmy-winning 'Simpsons' voice actor, dies at 70
Marcia Wallace, voice of Edna Krabappel on "The Simpsons," died at her Los Angeles home. She was 70. She also played receptionist Carol Kester on "The Bob Newhart Show." She died Friday night of complications from pneumonia. She had breast cancer surgery in March.
