R.I.P.D. - A recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him. Stars Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Ryan Reynolds & Mary-Louise Parker. Rated PG-13.

Turbo (animated) - A freak accident might just help an everyday garden snail achieve his biggest dream: winning the Indy 500. Features the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Samuel L. Jackson, Bill Hader, Snoop Dogg, Maya Rudolph and Mario Andretti. Rated PG.

American Music Festival admission pins half price through Sunday

Discount admission for the American Music Festival in Va Beach over Labor Day weekend has been extended through Sunday. Organizers have extended a half-off sale on Passport Pins, allowing access to all performances. Through Sunday, the pins are priced at $17.50.

HBO hammers broadcast networks, earning 108 Emmy nominations

The Emmy nominations were announced Thursday. HBO has an impressive 108. CBS and NBC both have 53 and ABC 45. Internet TV network Netflix scored 4. Winners will be announced at a Sept. 22 ceremony to air on CBS.

Memorial today at L.A. home of Cory Monteith

A private memorial for friends of Cory Monteith will take place at his Los Angeles home today. He died from a combination of alcohol & heroin in a hotel room in Vancouver last weekend. His body has been cremated. There are also 2 memorials in Vancouver, Canada.

 “My Girl” gives birth to “her girl”

Actress Anna Chlumsky has given birth to a daughter, Penelope Joan, in NYC. She was born July 11. Chlumsky, now 32, starred in the 1991 film "My Girl." She married entrepreneur Shaun So in 2008. She earned an Emmy Award nomination Thursday for the sitcom "Veep."

Royal baby in potential hospital switcheroo

Are Prince William and Duchess Kate pulling a smoke-and-mirrors switcheroo? Kate is spending time with her parents in Reading, 30 miles from London. The hospital she was born in back in 1982 is there. The press is staked out at St. Mary’s back in London.

Amanda Bynes Nearing Plea Deal In Dui Case

Amanda Bynes' lawyer has been granted a continuance in her DUI case in Los Angeles. She is close to striking a plea deal to avoid jail. She crashed her BMW into a police car in April, 2012. The hearing will continue August 22. She also has 2 other legal issues pending.

Alleged Kanye West Post-VMAs Taylor Swift Rant Captured on Tape

A leaked tape was posted on Gawker Thursday. It’s allegedly Kanye West recorded just hours after he interrupted Taylor Swift at the VMA Awards 4 years ago. He has unkind words for Taylor, Pink and MTV. Gawker could not confirm if the rant actually is West.

Kanye West loves taking videos of Kim Kardashian and baby North. The couple had their first baby together June 15. He wants to capture every moment of his girls spending time together. The trio are staying Kris Jenner while their new home is undergoing renovation.

Scarlett Johansson has sold her Los Angeles home. She has sold the luxury apartment in a residential tower for $470,000. The unit has been completely remodeled. It has panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and Downtown Los Angeles. The building offers luxury services.

Fantasia Barrino Staging Broadway Return

Singer Fantasia Barrino is preparing to make her return to Broadway. She’ll be in a new jazz-age musical set at the famed Cotton Club in Harlem, New York. Previews begin Oct. 18. She’ll sing the hits of Lena Horne, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.

Marc Anthony: 'I'm American, too'

Marc Anthony might sing sultry salsa songs in Spanish, but he's a born-and-raised American. There was criticism about a “foreigner” singing the U.S. national anthem at baseball’s All-Star Game. Marc has Puerto Rican roots, but was born and raised in NYC.
