Disney's 'Oz' bewitches box office with $80M debut

"Oz the Great and the Powerful" earned $80.3 million at the weekend box office for first place. In its 2nd weekend, "Jack the Giant Slayer" was second place with $10 million. “Identity Thief” was 3rd with $6.3 million, followed by “Dead Man Down” & “Snitch”.

Rihanna postpones concert in Boston

Rihanna was forced to cancel her concert in Boston last night after she contracted laryngitis. Doctors are ordered her to rest her voice. The show will be rescheduled. For now, her show Tuesday night in Baltimore is still scheduled.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck vacating “The View” after 9 years

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being fired from "The View." She has been told her contract will not be renewed. Brooke Shields is in discussion to join the panel. Elizabeth has been on the show 9 years. Joy Behar announced last week she is leaving after 16 years.

Rick Springfield was arrested Friday morning for neglecting to show up in court on a DUI charge a few weeks ago. His wife brought the necessary paperwork down to the station, and he was freed. He returns to General Hospital for several episodes in April.

Australian model and actress Elle Macpherson is engaged to billionaire real estate developer Jeffrey Soffer. They dated for 2 years before breaking up last March, and are now back together and engaged. She will move to Miami, where Soffer lives.

Holly Madison has defended her decision to call her new baby Rainbow. She insists the unusual name will make her daughter stronger as she grows up. The baby was born last Tuesday. Holly was inspired by a girl she went to school with who had the same name.

Motown: The Musical opens for previews tonight at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway. The red carpet will be rolled out April 14. Founder Berry Gordy wrote the initial script and has been hands-on throughout the process. The show will have a pair of albums.

Tina Fey recently recalled a summer job she had as a teen: she served cheese steaks at a Pennsylvania pool club so her mother could swim for free. She is promoting her next movie “Admission,” out March 22. She is a graduate of University of Virginia.

Marvel releasing some 700 No. 1 issues digitally

Marvel Entertainment is making more than 700 first issues available to digital readers for free through the Marvel app and the company's website. After Tuesday, they'll be sold for $1.99 to $3.99 per issue. Comic fans, both new and old, can read where it all began.
